Albanese taps NRF for interest-free small business loans amid fuel crisis

The government will roll out NRF-backed interest-free loans for small businesses, including freight and fuel operators, amid the fuel crisis.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will roll out $1 billion in interest-free loans for freight, fuel and fertiliser businesses. These will be delivered through the government’s economic resilience program, funded from the existing National Reconstruction Fund (NRF).

“No government can promise to eliminate the pressures this crisis will impose, but we will be a buffer against the worst of it — a shock absorber in a time of global shocks,” Albanese will say in his speech on Thursday.
