Fuel crisis: Emergency powers activated in NSW as shortages deepen

The New South Wales government has moved closer to intervening in fuel distribution, after major suppliers agreed to comply with emergency orders to hand over data about how fuel is moving across the state.

NSW energy minister, Penny Sharpe, issued formal information notices to fuel companies as part of the state’s response to ongoing supply pressures linked to the Iran war.
