Canva has acquired Sydney-founded startups Simtheory and Ortto, extending its acquisition hot streak as the graphic design unicorn reframes itself as an AI-powered workplace platform.

Simtheory is an AI collaboration startup, allowing enterprise and government teams to build custom assistants and agents within their own cloud systems.

It offers access to leading AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, along with integrations empowering agents to create documents, read emails, and adjust CRM tools.

Ortto focuses on marketing automation, promising to unify customer data, roll out customised campaigns, and track key metrics.
