Accounting’s AI arms race heats up with new MYOB, Microsoft partnership

MYOB has confirmed a five-year deal with US technology giant Microsoft, as it adjusts to the disruption caused by artificial intelligence.

The accounting sector’s artificial intelligence arms race is heating up, with MYOB announcing an AI-focused partnership with Microsoft, just days after rival platform Xero revealed its new Anthropic deal.

The announcements speak to the accounting technology sector’s unique relationship with AI, which promises radical productivity gains, while also challenging the very SaaS models those companies are built on.

MYOB this week confirmed a five-year deal with the American technology giant, with the companies jointly funding the expansion of AI tools across the accounting and business management platform.
