Selling Anzac biscuits this week? There are strict rules around what you can call them and even how they’re made.

The word ‘Anzac’ is protected under Australian law, meaning businesses can’t freely use it for commercial products without meeting specific guidelines set by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

Short answer: Yes, you can sell Anzac biscuits, but only if they follow approved naming and recipe guidelines, and you don’t call them “Anzac cookies”.
